FOUND AN INJURED OR ABANDONED BABY BEAVER?

Don't panic! Help is available:

If you find an injured beaver or an abandoned baby beaver, it's important to act with care and avoid trying to handle the situation on your own. First, observe from a distance to determine if the beaver is truly alone, adult beavers may be nearby but out of sight. Do not attempt to feed, touch, or relocate the animal, as improper care can cause harm.

Contact us or call North Country Wild Care at (518) 964-6740 as soon as possible, they have the training and resources needed to assess the situation and provide appropriate care. Baby beavers (kits) require specialized diets and socialization to survive and eventually return to the wild, so prompt professional intervention is essential.
