Today is International Beaver Day. Right now, we have seven beavers in our care! And days like this make me think about how much these animals matter and how much work it takes to give them a real chance.

Beavers are ecosystem engineers, and they have a long history of being misunderstood. International Beaver Day is a chance to celebrate them, learn about them, and recognize why protecting them matters. Here at Wild for Life, it is also a reminder of how much more we still want to build.

We need to keep improving and expanding our prerelease spaces so that the beavers in our care have what they need, and so that we have room for the ones who will need us next. We are also working toward a wildlife clinic that will help us increase our capacity to care for beavers and so many other wild animals who need us. If you would like to support those goals in honor of International Beaver Day, we would be so grateful.
